All of Ohio's 88 counties saw an increase in their unemployment numbers for the month of January.
According to the Ohio Job and Family Services, counties in West Central Ohio saw between a .7% to a .1% increase from December to January. Allen and Hardin counties tied for the highest unemployment rate in our area at 5.1%. Mercer, Auglaize, Hancock, and Van Wert counties were among the 10 lowest counties in the state.
Hardin County had the biggest jump at .7%. Shelby County had the second highest at .5%. Overall the State of Ohio increased from 4.8% to 5.4 % from December to January.
