12/11/19 Your News Now First Edition: We're now finding out the school bus was full of kids last night when it was run into by a couple pulling out of a driveway, injuring those in that SUV.

Delphos School Bus Crash

A viewer sent us these pictures of the crash on East Fifth Street in Delphos around 8 p.m. last night(12/11/19). The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 85-year-old Earline Williams, in a Buick Encore, didn't yield in a private driveway while making a right turn and pulled out in front of a Delphos City school bus driving on Fifth Street. Williams and her passenger, 87-year-old John Williams were taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita's hospital with minor injuries. No one on the bus was injured. We're told it was filled with 15 students coming back from a sporting event.

UPDATE Press Release from Lima Post OSHP 12/11/19: The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle injury crash which occurred on 5th St in Delphos, in Allen County. On December 10th, 2019, at approximately 8:08 P.M., troopers responded to a report of a two vehicle injury crash involving a school bus. Earline Williams, age 85, of Delphos, was driving a 2015 Buick Encore, when she failed to yield from a private drive while making a right turn and pulled into the path of the school bus.  Drew Wertenberger, age 46, of Delphos, was operating a 2009 Blue Bird School Bus form Delphos City Schools while traveling west on 5th St.

Earline Williams and her passenger John Williams, age 87, also of Delphos, were transported by Delphos Fire and EMS with minor injuries to St. Rita’s Hospital.  Mr. Wertenberger claimed no injuries at the time of the crash.  Deborah Stetler, age 59, of Delphos, was on the school bus and claimed no injuries.  There were 15 students on the bus returning from a sporting event, they also all claimed no injuries at the scene.    

It is believed Earline Williams was not wearing a safety belt.  The Lima Post was assisted on scene by Delphos Police Department along with Delphos Fire and EMS. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear a properly adjusted seatbelt.

12/10/19 Your News Now at Ten: At least one other vehicle was involved in a crash with a school bus in Delphos this evening(12/10/19). A viewer sent us photos of the crash on East Fifth Street. We have few details surrounding what happened at this time as the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate. We're told students were on the bus at the time of the crash. We're waiting to hear more information concerning any injuries and what led to the crash.
