In celebration of National Chemistry Week, OSU Lima students spent Thursday morning(10/24/19) teaching Bath Elementary students about different types of metals. Four OSU Lima chemistry students did a demonstration about "Marvelous Metals". This demonstration showed the kindergartens how to tell metals from non-metals by comparing samples of each against a magnet. The kindergarteners were able to get hands-on and hold the magnet to different objects and decide whether or not it was magnetic. The OSU Lima students think starting to teach chemistry young is important in how children will view this subject in school later.
