Caps were met and exceeded at the Sale on Sunday in the WCOL Celeste Center, with a grand total in sales of $260,500. More than $134,000 will fund the Virgil L. Strickler Youth Reserve Program to continue supporting Ohio youth in agriculture and beyond.
July 1, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Development: (COLUMBUS, Ohio) – To celebrate National Ice Cream Month, TourismOhio is inviting Ohioans to grab a cone, bowl, or treat at one of the more than 50 stops along the newly expanded Ohio Ice Cream Trail. The Ohio Ice Cream Trail first launched in 2018 with 15 stops. In 2019, TourismOhio added an additional five stops were added from the results of a reader survey. Responding to growing popularity, the trail was expanded this year to include 54 stops.
Hundreds of people are heading over to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds to take part in not one but three events going on at the same time. Harvest Happenings, the Dairy Barn Emporium and the Apple Festival have taken over the fairgrounds Friday and Saturday. If you like to shop or looking to get a jump on your holiday shopping, there are crafts, clothing, and other items available in many different building. But it is the Apple Festival that started it all. It is celebrating it is 35th year in 2022. It began as way for three orchards to get rid of their apple supplies in the fall, but it has grown too so much more.

Gracie Casebolt has been competing for 8 years at the fair and she has taken her talents nationwide to win top honors at other competitions. She will be joining the Texas A & M division one equestrian team this fall. But coming back to the fair is always something special to her.
