The City of Lima filed another nuisance action on a downtown bar on Wednesday.

Law Director Tony Geiger said the action was taken on "Levels" bar at 122 E. North St. for much the same reasons of 904 S. Main St. Geiger said the business, formerly known as "Beantown Saloon," has had many criminal disturbances and excessive police calls.

Two men have been charged with suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting death of Branson Tucker early Tuesday morning.

The Lima Police Department says they have charged 59-year-old Jerome Fuqua and 59-year-old Kenneth Cobb after detectives got information that the pair were involved in the shooting that left the 34-year-old Branson Tucker dead.

The Lima Police Department is investigating their first homicide of 2019 after being called out to what appeared to be a motor vehicle accident.

Around 3:30 Tuesday morning, officers responded to the 600 block of Michael Ave. after a vehicle had struck a power pole. Officers found 34-year-old Branson Tucker of Lima, in the back seat with a gunshot wound to his torso.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at approximately 0330 hours, Lima Police Officers responded to the 600 blk of Michael Ave in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Branson Tucker, 34 years old of Lima, was located inside the vehicle and had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso.  Mr Tucker was transported to St Rita’s Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The woman accused of a stabbing has been apprehended and made her first appearance in court Monday afternoon.

19-year-old Diamond Osborne had her first hearing in Lima Municipal Court today(1/14/19) for a charge of felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.

The Lima Police Department is preparing to address the recent shootings that have taken place on Main Street.

Via a press release, the Lima Police Department plans to provide updates tomorrow regarding the shootings at 904 S. Main St. on Dec. 29, and 701 S. Main St. on Jan. 12.

The Lima Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting on Main St. 

Officers were called to 701 S. Main St. at 2:16 am Saturday morning (1/12/19) after reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Marko's Sports and Spirits. One person was found injured. Markeice Johnson, 22, sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound, and was taken to Mercy Health St. Rita's for treatment.
