The case continues for a Mercer County couple charged with being part of the January 6, 2021, storming of the U.S. Capitol. Donald and Shawndale Chilcoat are facing numerous federal charges from the events of that day, including disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building and obstruction or impeding any official proceeding. A hearing was set for last week for a change of plea, but the case is continuing with a status conference set for next month.
A Delphos man was sentenced to 19 months in prison for his role in the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Matthew Honigford was sentenced on the charge of assaulting, resisting, and impeding officers. He will also have 24 months of supervised release following his prison term.

The Department of Justice says 28-year-old Jonathan J. Copeland was arrested today in Shawnee Township. He was expected to make his initial appearance before the court in the Northern District of Ohio today. He faces accusations of assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement officers with a dangerous weapon, and interfering with a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder. Both are felony charges.
Don and Shawndale Chilcoat are in the Lucas County Jail on the federal charges of Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Entering and Remaining in the Gallery of Congress; Disorderly Conduct on Capital Grounds; Parade, Demonstrate, or Picket in any of the Capitol Buildings; and Obstruction or Impeding any Official Proceeding.
