PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Multiple fire departments were called to battle a fire in Perry Township this morning.
Perry Township Fire Department responded to 6336 Saint Johns Road around 6 a.m. for a report of a vehicle driving into a home. Flames were visible upon arrival and it was then considered a structure fire. The occupant of the vehicle was able to get out of their car, as well as the family residing in the home. The fire was contained around 8 a.m.
"Shawnee assisted, Unionopolis, Cridersville, and Lima Fire Department all assisted with extinguishing the fire. All family members evacuated there were no injuries or fatalities there. The status of the patient, or driver at that time, is unknown, was transported to the nearest hospital," stated Keith Rader, Perry Township Fire Chief.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
