Update: Juvenile Sent To Hospital After Shooting In Lima

Lima Police say a juvenile was sent to the hospital Monday evening in regards to a shooting.

Police say he has non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting was called in around 7 p.m. Monday night. Police had crime scene tape by Unity Elementary School at Catalpa Avenue between Taft and Sugar Street. Police searched the area and the scene was cleared by 8:30 p.m.

They also had a house along East Third Street taped off, and say they were waiting on a search warrant for a residence. It's not clear where the shooting happened and what led to it.

Police say they are still investigating who shot the juvenile and the incident remains under investigation.

Police need your help in locating the teen connected to the shooting.

According to investigators 18 year old Darod Florence of Lima was shot twice and found by first responders at the 700 Block of 3rd Street near Unity Elementary, just after 6 p.m. last night. 

He was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center with non-lifethreatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators say that they have one in custody, and they are seeking the whereabouts of 15 year old Michael Crockett.

He is wanted on the charge of Delinquency by Felonious Assault.

Florence and his brother Khylil Florence were also shot in January of this year, with Khylil dying from his gun shot wound.

Damere Crockett was arrested and was sentenced to 9 years after pleading to involuntary manslaughter
