Judge Basinger Retires

Putnam County is saying farewell to their long time common pleas court judge.

After 30 years in the Putnam County judicial system, Judge Randall Basinger is retiring. A retirement celebration was held this afternoon at the Putnam County Courthouse in Ottawa to honor the decades of service Basinger has done for the county. While this is a retirement celebration, Basinger still has plenty of things on his agenda.

Basinger says, "I'm going to be working as a visiting judge in Putnam County..." He'll also continue to teach Constitutional Law at Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University.

On May 9th Basinger's replacement, Keith Schierloh, is set to take over duties on the bench.
