Shawnee teacher faces multiple charges from weekend incident

A Shawnee teacher is being held in the Allen County Jail following his arrest early Saturday morning for breaking into a home and for stealing a car.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office is reporting that 47-year-old Vincent Paul Deluca of Lima is facing multiple charges including burglary, OVI, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, with additional charges possible. The sheriff's office is reporting that on Saturday, March 10th, around 12:50 a.m., Deluca entered a home unlawfully in the 6800 Block of Fort Amanda Road. Deluca had a brief verbal confrontation with a resident before leaving on foot. The victim contacted the sheriff's office. A short time later Deluca was located at his home on West Breese Road. Also found at his home was a vehicle that is believed to have been stolen by Deluca in the 6700 Block of Fort Amanda Road. He was taken into custody by deputies without incident.

Sheriff officials add that at this point there is no indication that the victim of the burglary and Deluca knew one another.

On 3-10-2018 at approximately 12:50 AM a suspect, later identified as Vincent Paul Deluca, entered a home unlawfully in the 6800 Block of Ft. Amanda Rd. Vincent had a brief verbal confrontation with a resident, before leaving the residence on foot. The victim contacted the Sheriff's Office, and a short time later Vincent was located at his residence in the 2800 Block of W. Breese Rd. Also found at his home, a vehicle that is believed to have been stolen by Vincent in the 6700 Block of Ft. Amanda Rd. Vincent was taken into custody by Deputies without further incident. Vincent had arraignment this afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Lima Municipal Court and is presently being held on a $100,000 Cash or Surety Bond. He is currently charged with: Burglary, O.V.I., Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, with additional charges possible.
