Three women indicted in Hilty Home patient death

Three women are being indicted by the Putnam County Grand Jury for the death of a female patient of Hilty Home this January.

According to the indictment, Megan Schnipke of Columbus Grove is charged with Forgery, Gross Patient Neglect, and Patient Neglect. Rachel Friesel and Destini Fenbert, both of Pandora, are each charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Forgery, Gross Patient Neglect, and Patient Neglect.

The indictment does not say how the women were involved with the death, and an arraignment is scheduled for May 16th.

Phyllis Campbell, 76, was found outside of the home in Pandora after 8:20 a.m. on January 7th. She was not found until about 8 hours after her room was checked at midnight, though room checks were documented as having been done at both 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. According to the report, Campbell left the building around 12:35 a.m, when the outside temperature was around 2 degrees below zero.
