Students at Lima South Science Technology got a preview of what's to come in this year's Stardust Series.
8th-grade students were able to chat with this year's guest speaker ahead of time, Ohio State Professor Dr. Zakee Sabree via video chat. Sabree discussed with the students what his career entails and the different fields of science they can get involved with. This is the fourth year for the Stardust: William Fowler Science Series in which the area of specialization is changed each year. This year focuses on Earth's symbiotic relationships.
"They remember some of the previous work the classes have done with whether it's been the stop-motion animation, the cancer documentary or some of the artwork relating to the astrophysicist that we had on the first year," said principal Chad Fallis. "They've seen that work around the building and they get really get excited when it's their turn to have that chance."
Part of the series is seventh and eighth-grade students who will tour the OSU Lima campus then hear from Dr. Sabree in person.
