The second murder trial in Allen County is also in its second day on Wednesday.
Jayleon'tre Harris' murder trial saw the prosecution continue calling witnesses for most of the day. Of the witnesses called to the stand were the Lima police officers who initially responded to the alleged shooting on May 19, 2016. Also, the officer who apprehended Harris a month after the incident, in Columbus, was on the stand testifying. The court saw several exhibits of evidence, including the 9-1-1 call from a passerby just after the incident occurred.
"Oh my he's laying on the floor," said the 911 caller. "They shot him! They shot him! Oh my god they shot him!" The remaining audio after this was inaudible and then the phone clicks as the caller hangs up.
Harris faces three charges including aggravated murder with a firearm specification, and his trial will continue on Thursday.
