LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A man wanted in connection with the 2022 shooting death of Dejuan Adams was arrested Saturday night in Lima.

Tony Sibert, 29, is being held in the Allen County Jail on multiple warrants, including suspicion of murder.

According to Lima Police detectives, officers received a tip around 5:30 p.m. Saturday about a domestic dispute at a home in the 600 block of Hope Avenue. When officers arrived, they heard a man and woman arguing and believed Sibert to be the man involved. After confirming Sibert was inside, officers secured the residence.

Lima SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were called in for support, and a search warrant was obtained for the home. After negotiations with Sibert to surrender stalled, the SWAT team entered the residence and took him into custody.

On July 23, 2022, Lima Police officers heard gunshots coming from the area of West Grand Avenue. They responded to the 200 block, where they found Adams suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the Allen County Jail’s website, Sibert is also being held on additional traffic and felony drug charges.

On May 2nd , 2026, at about 5:30 p.m., Lima Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute at 630 Hope Ave., by an anonymous 3rd party caller. 

A male and female were heard fighting inside the residence, so officers responded to investigate.  Upon their arrival, they could hear individuals arguing inside.  Further investigation revealed that 29-year-old Tony T. Sibert had ties to the residence and was believed to be the male half involved in the dispute. 

Police have been searching for Mr. Sibert in relation to the July 23rd, 2022 shooting death of Dejuan Adams, and he had multiple active warrants out for his arrest. 

As a result, Officers secured the residence and contacted detectives.  Mr. Sibert was seen inside and identified by officers on the outside of the apartment, so a search warrant was obtained. 

The Lima Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT teams were contacted and responded to the scene for support. 

When negotiations with Mr. Sibert stalled, the SWAT team completed the warrant service and ultimately took Mr. Sibert into custody. 

 Mr. Sibert was eventually transported to and held at the Allen County Jail on charges stemming from the warrants, Obstructing Official Business and suspicion of Murder.
