LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — At Friday’s special meeting, the Port Authority of Allen County approved hiring a consulting firm to help guide the future of Memorial Hall.

Board members have been discussing possible redevelopment options for the shuttered building, including the potential for a boutique hotel. The board selected Argus Consulting to help coordinate development services for the project.  Officials say the firm will work with design, construction and environmental teams to evaluate options and ensure the project is a good investment for the county.

“They’ll be looking to consider all the options necessary to make sure this is a viable project, a project that has long-term sustainability,” said Dave Stratton, president and CEO of the Greater Lima Region. “We might also look at making sure this can be fiscally responsible, so they’ll help us in that process of coordination.”

Stratton added that if a boutique hotel moves forward, the consulting firm would also help identify hotel management and potential investment partners.
