LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Auditor’s Office is preparing to auction off multiple tax-forfeited properties on Thursday, Nov. 13. The sale begins at 10 a.m., with doors opening and bidder registration starting at 9 a.m. at the Allen County Job and Family Services Training Center, located at 951 Commerce Parkway in Lima.

The properties were forfeited to the state due to delinquent taxes. Most are residential, and some include existing homes or structures. Anyone interested in bidding must be current on their own property taxes and may review the listings ahead of the sale on the auditor’s website.

Allen County to auction tax-forfeited properties Nov. 13

“We recommend people do their research on these properties. These aren't the best of the best properties, by any means. So go to the auditor's website, https://allencountyohauditor.com and up in the top Message Center, there's a link to all of these properties, and you'll be able to see everything about them. All of the taxes will be released once these properties are bought, so there will be no taxes, back taxes due with them. We need people to be have a valid driver's license or identification, and they must bring a $300 either cash or certified check the day of the sale to secure their bid if they're the winning bidder,” says Rachael Gilroy, Allen County Auditor.

A $300 cash deposit or certified check is required to secure the winning bid.
