LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - After holding a public meeting in late July and gathering community input on a regional economic plan, the Allen Economic Development Group is now reviewing vision statements.
This summer, AEDG joined Hancock, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties to pursue a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. The vision statements from the drafted plan focus on several areas, including development and land use, financial resource capacity and workforce, to name a few. On Monday night, AEDG and community organizations provided feedback on those statements.

“The big thing's that everybody's looking for is just a concise look at what the county or the 5 counties would like using that vision statement as a call to action, if you will, but it's really going to be what happens after these vision statements, with the strategies, with the actions for us to really put some things into motion,” says Tim Fitzpatrick, Business Development/Regional Workforce Development, AEDG.
The final report, which will include input from all five counties, was originally expected this month but is now scheduled to be returned to AEDG by the end of December.
