LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Symphony Orchestra had a bittersweet performance to end their 2025-2026 season.

Titled "Fate and Fortune", this program was centered around one of the most iconic works called Carmina Burana. This concert featured the Lima Symphony Chorus as well as a Children's Community Chorus and was a celebratory moment to cherish the past six years with music director Andrew Crust. After the performance, audience members were invited to a reception for Andrew. This concert also announced the six music director finalists for the next season, and what each concert will showcase.

A bittersweet finale: Lima Symphony Orchestra closes season with Fate and Fortune performance

"Lima's really lucky to have this organization and I've just been telling people all week it's a rare flower so, nurture it, and don't let it fade away because that's the way we keep the arts alive in our communities," says Andrew Crust, music director for the Lima Symphony Orchestra.

"It's been a wonderful six years, Andrew has been a great collaborative partner, and he has brought such exciting programming to the symphony. He's brought incredible guest artists here, and it's been such a fantastic experience working for him. And it's very bittersweet to lose him tonight but, we have an incredible concert planned," says Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, CEO of Lima Symphony Orchestra.

Although the orchestra will miss Andrew, they will be able to let his legacy live on through their performances.
