LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Activate Allen County is encouraging families to focus on their health this holiday season. The organization has once again teamed up with Mercy Health to host the annual “Healthy Families Expo” at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center this Saturday.

The event offers families a fun-filled morning while providing resources to help them make healthier holiday choices. More than 30 vendors will provide health screenings and educational materials, and live demonstrations will take place on stage. The goal is to promote healthy lifestyles across the community.

Chad Welker of Activate Allen County said the initiative has broad benefits.

“When families are healthy, kids have better school attendance, people are able to get to work on time and are not staying home with kids, and ultimately, just makes a more vibrant community to live in. So that is what our main focus is, to promote that and to put resources in the hands of our community members so that they can make healthy choices.”
