LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Next week residents in more than two dozen Lima neighborhoods will see some roadwork being done.
The city's contractor will begin the annual pavement preservation program on August 10th. City officials are asking residents to abide by the no parking signs that will be posted and that you will be able to be back on the street within a day. It's a process called reclamite asphalt rejuvenator that restores flexibility, seals out moisture, and reverses oxidation.
"It helps keep the new asphalt newer longer so we don't have to do other remediation or repairs to the asphalt," said Ross Vennekotter, civil engineer 2 for the city of Lima. "It helps keep water out, helps it shed water, helps it prevent cracking and potholing."
The asphalt treatments start Monday the 10th and should be completed by the end of the week, weather permitting.
