SHAWNEE TWP, Ohio (WLIO) - Apollo Career Center welcomed nearly a thousand high school sophomores Wednesday afternoon to tour its career programs.

411 Blast gives students from Apollo's 11 partner schools a first look at the training options available to them. Students chose two programs to explore, spending an hour in each lab, meeting instructors and taking part in hands-on activities. Apollo's principal says the day helps students make informed decisions about their education and future career paths ahead of the application opening.

"It's an opportunity for students to have the hands on experience and see if this is maybe a place they're interested in coming to for their junior and senior year," said Nicholas Sammetinger, principal of Apollo Career Center. "This year, it's something we're doing earlier than normal, we're trying to do it ahead of our Dec 1 application opening."

The application opens December 1st at 5 PM For the 2026–27 school year.

It will be available on Apollo's website, and students can also get more information through their school counselor.
