LIMA, Ohio - ArtSpace/Lima, in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club at Bradfield Community Center, is proud to present Capturing the Spirit, an evening of poetry written and performed by young voices from our community.
The project brought together youth writers, ages 8 to 12, with Lima’s Poet Laureate, Laurin Wolf, who guided them in discovering the power of language and developing their unique voices through poetry. The resulting collection, Capturing the Spirit, features their original works and reflects the creativity and insight of Lima’s next generation of storytellers.
On Thursday, September 18, at 5:30 PM, student poets will take the stage at ArtSpace, 65 Town Square, to present their poetry in a public reading. In addition to the live performances, the summer workshop materials and creative notes will be on display, offering a glimpse into the process behind the work.
This program was made possible through the generous support of Arts Midwest, whose funding has helped bring the transformative power of poetry to young people in our community.
