LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — “Toast to the City” got a reboot Thursday night as it moved to the new amphitheater and Pangle Pavilion.
Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith raised a glass and toasted the city, highlighting accomplishments in downtown Lima. A large crowd was on hand for the event, bringing together sponsors, local businesses and supporters for an evening of entertainment, food and an auction.
Attendees also watched video montages highlighting everything from the Spring and Main corridor and new restaurants to other downtown development projects. Organizers said it was the perfect time to toast the city and celebrate an exciting year.
“Everybody is now trusting to come downtown, and we just want to be a part of that. Again, when the LFAA decided that we’re going to do these concerts and the toast- again, everybody is really excited to have it come back,” says Tami Trenkamp, Toast to the City Committee Chair.
Officials also announced that a playground and concession stand will be the latest projects coming to the amphitheater and pavilion grounds. Members of the Lima Festivals and Amphitheater Alliance said they plan to use proceeds from Thursday’s fundraiser for those additions and to bring more entertainment downtown.
