LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Downtown Lima Inc. is giving the community another reason to explore local businesses with the second “Third Thursday” of the season taking place Thursday afternoon.
The event featured the “Shop ‘Til You Drop” promotion, allowing visitors to browse participating local stores, along with the return of the farmers market. Attendees also had the opportunity to view vintage cars at the “Buckeye Cruisers Cruise-In” and enjoy $5 samplers from various restaurants as part of the popular “Taste of Downtown.” As part of Lima’s ongoing downtown revitalization efforts, organizers hope the event draws more people to the city center.
“We have a great opportunity to appeal to several different audiences. So just because maybe you don't like what's going on here, you'll like what's going on over here. So I think we're kind of in a culture that folks don't want to go somewhere and spend five hours. They want to hop. So we now have enough venues in walking distance that you are able to hop, and Dora is around to help you do that too,” said Cricket Rodriguez, executive director of Downtown Lima Inc.
There is one more Third Thursday event scheduled for the summer, taking place on August 21. Officials encourage residents and visitors alike to come downtown and see everything Lima has to offer.
