LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It may be hot outside, but the Christmas spirit was alive and well Thursday in downtown Lima.
The Meeting Place on Market hosted its annual “Christmas in July” event, featuring festive music, holiday-themed beverages and sweet treats. Several community organizations set up stations offering games, crafts and activities for children. A highlight of this year’s celebration was a donation drive benefiting St. Luke’s Church. The café collected items for the church’s food pantry and back-to-school supply effort — all while spreading holiday cheer.

“We actually believe in helping the community. That's part of what we do here at the meeting place. We like to help out our community members, and it's nice to fill the coffee shop with some joy and some festive activities even though it's close to 100 degrees outside,” says Amy McCluer, Business Administrator, The Meeting Place on Market.
Donations included personal hygiene products, non-perishable foods, and school supplies such as pencils, crayons, and bookbags. Each item donated earned a free children’s hot cocoa.
