LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The American Township Fire Department responded to a house fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Right around 1:30 PM Wednesday, the American Township Fire Department was called out to 2350 Kimberly Drive for reports of a house fire with fire and smoke showing from the first story of the home. According to the fire department, the fire started in a vent fan in a bathroom, which then spread to the insulation in the area of the attic that is above the bathroom.
It took firefighters about an hour to put get the flames and smoke under control. No residents of the home or fire fighters were injured in the fire.
There is an estimated $40,000 worth of damage with $30,000 in structural damage and $10,000 in contents of the home.
