LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Fort Wayne-based nonprofit is holding a free clothing giveaway this weekend for families in need.
Pie’s Clothing Closet is partnering with local sponsors to host a community clothing distribution event Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 227 S. Main St., Lima. Items include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, along with shoes, boots and a few coats — all free of charge. Organizers say they’re grateful for the chance to support families as temperatures drop and the holidays approach.
“This is my second home, and it just really feels great to be able to help the families here in Lima — to help give their kids some clothes without having to spend money,” said Joseph Ayers, CEO and president of Pie’s Clothing Closet. “A lot of people are really in need of clothes, especially the kids, with school time and the weather getting cold. So it’s really just a pleasure to be here again.”
Ayers says there will also be food provided at the event.
