LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Future Buckeyes getting together at Ohio State Lima on Friday to mark another item off their educational to-do list.
The Carmen and Commitment event is designed for students who've been admitted to the campus and are looking to take the next steps toward enrollment. Officials were on-hand taking up everything from financial aid and academic advising to what to expect before orientation.
Advisors have learned over the years that incoming freshmen can learn a lot from current Buckeyes on campus.
"For example, whenever a student comes and gets a tour from us, they get a tour from a current student, so they get to ask those questions they may not want to ask us - they get to ask those students exactly how their experience is going," said Zachary Welly, admissions recruitment coordinator for Ohio State Lima. "It's even better when, let's say, an Early Childhood Education major gets paired with one of our early childhood education major tour guides, they get to have a very in depth conversation that is very relevant to their next stage of life."
Students were also encouraged to fill out the FAFSA application to see if they're eligible for any financial help. Financial aid award letters began going out this week.
