ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — Pilots from across the tri-state area will gather Saturday at the L.A.R.K.S. field, four miles west of Elida on State Route 309, to showcase the speed and performance of model aircraft.
The L.A.R.K.S. Jet Event will feature a variety of model aircraft, including models of military and high-performance jets. Some of the aircraft can reach speeds of up to 200 mph.
Members of L.A.R.K.S. are inviting the public to come out and watch some of the fastest action in the sky.
“This will feature the top end modeling aircraft jet engines turbine powered, electric powered, radio controlled,” says Ron Ballard, Vice Pres. LARKS.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, at L.A.R.K.S. Field.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Lunch will be available for purchase starting at 11:30 a.m.
The afternoon demonstration is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
