LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce has named the three finalists for the 2026 Above and Beyond Award.

Superior Credit Union donated more than 700-thousand dollars last year through scholarships and community projects. The organization also provided financial education to more than 17-hundred students across 23 schools and offered tax preparation services for low- to moderate-income members. In addition, employees created a hardship fund to support coworkers facing unexpected illness or financial challenges. Officials say for more than 70 years, Superior has remained committed to serving the communities where they operate.

At the Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships, giving back has been a priority for six decades. Each August, the dealership hosts a car show that raises between 12- and 24-thousand dollars for local charities. Through faith-based efforts, the organization also supports concerts and ministries in the region. Last year, Tom Ahl sold 70 percent of the business to employees, making it one of a small number of employee-owned dealerships in the country. The company continues to support local groups through monthly donations.

And since 1884, The Lima News has kept the community informed with news, sports, and entertainment, while giving back. Staff members support local service organizations and help families in need through the Adopt-a-Stocking Fund. The newspaper also sponsors the Lee Volunteer Awards and works with local businesses to strengthen marketing and communication efforts.

These organizations are finalists for the Lima-Allen County Chamber's Above and Beyond Award.
