LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Lima Catholic students hit the streets Friday to show that they’re hooked on fun.
The Positive Addiction Run wrapped up a week of activities, speakers and events for Lima Catholic Schools. The event included a 5K and a one-mile fun run. The focus of Positive Addiction Week is to promote healthy, uplifting activities like exercise, reading and sports. It also raises awareness about mental health and teaches students about the dangers of drug and alcohol use. Students say they always look forward to coming together at the end of the week.

“It brings us all together as one and has unity, and makes us realize that everything with positive energy can do anything. And with that, we bring the little kids, even with the adults and people who are alumni, they come together, and it makes us want to make family,” said Alon’Nah Bagley, a junior at Lima Central Catholic.
Students from Lima Central Catholic also serve as role models for younger children who look up to them.
“It's really cool because they see us and they say, Oh, I could be like that one day. And it's really special that we all get to do this together, and that they have someone to look up to,” said Loghan Smith, also a junior at Lima Central Catholic.
This year marks the 42nd annual celebration of Positive Addiction Week.
