LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima City Schools made preschool and kindergarten registration easy for parents by making the open house a one-stop-shop.
At Lima Senior, parents of children who were eligible for preschool and kindergarten were able to not only register, but learn about businesses around the area, resources available, and receive information about schooling. Kids were also encouraged to play the carnival themed games and were given prizes and other goodies for their upcoming school year.
"This allows the parents to get everything done, so they don't have to come to the school and do one thing, then go to the doctor and do another. We actually have a doctor on site, so, that way they can get everything done, and be ready for August, right in one stop," says Desiray Engberg, instructional coach at Unity Elementary School.
By having the convenience of all registration needs in one place, parents were able to check off one more box early for their child's education.
