LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The clock is ticking as area students are counting down their last days of summer break.
In two weeks, Lima City School students will be back in the classroom, and school administration believes that is something to celebrate. Their annual back to school celebration will be Tuesday, August 11th at the Dr. Martin Luther King Park on 8th Street. Students and their families will be able to meet administration, teachers, a variety of non-profit organizations, and get a free meal.
"Just an exciting time to be back out there; you can see your peers, you can see other families, everybody's excited and ready to start the school year fresh, rejuvenated, and excited to get the year started," said Andre Rudolph, superintendent of Lima City Schools. "But of course you can come out and get new supplies, you can get brand new backpacks, you can participate in all the activities that we have out there. We'll have food, we'll have books, the SPARTY mobile. It's just a great time."
The celebration is from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday, August 11th at MLK Park at 400 East 8th Street.
