LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima community is working together to make the city a better place.

Lima community kicks off spring clean-up

It’s a great opportunity for Lima residents to take a look around the house and see what things you may not need anymore.

Saturday marked the first day of the mayor's Spring Clean-Up, a community effort aimed at beautifying the area. It’s a great opportunity for Lima residents to take a look around the house and see what things you may not need anymore. Many different host organizations and volunteers were ready and willing to take all of the stuff you want to get rid of.

"We have a lot of volunteers and organizations that come back and do this every year, and this year, we've gotten a lot of new faces joining us, and without these volunteers, this event would not be a success. I mean, we really need them to partner with us to just bring this opportunity to the city and to make it successful," said Angie Rex, property maintenance code inspector for the City of Lima.

The next day for the Spring Clean-Up will be Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. You can drop your items off at the dumpster sites during those times.
