LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – With just over a week until the Fourth of July, the Lima 4th Committee is finalizing plans for this year’s Independence Day celebration, promising a day packed with events for the entire community.

The festivities will kick off with the popular Freedom 5K run and walk, which draws runners from across the region. Families can also enjoy the annual Kids Fishing Derby and Veterans Car Show, along with a variety of other activities throughout the day.

“There will be food trucks even there, like, post-race,” said Kelsey Joseph, chair of the Lima 4th Committee. “Sunny Side Up is coming in the morning. We’ll have trucks there specifically for the car show from noon to four. And then we’ll have trucks in the evening as well. So all day, and there's—I mean, there’s ice cream, and then you got your, like, meat truck. So all types of foods will be there for everybody.”
