LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - As the Walking the Wards series continues, Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith made a special stop at the Allen County Council on Aging.
This visit giving senior citizens the chance to share their visions, ideas, and concerns to the mayor. Smith also brought along several staff members from various departments. They talked about some city projects including the Lima Community Aquatic Park and studies for a new water treatment plant and fire station.
While not a traditional walk, city officials hope it's another way for residents to give their two cents.
Smith also brought along several staff members from various departments.
"I thought it would be a wonderful place for her to come and see what we do here, and meet the people, just to be available to the people, and to have them be able to ask questions and and also that she brought up what they didn't like about the neighborhoods, to really not just get into the positive things, but know what things need to be changed," said Judy Jacomet, senior services resource coordinator and information & referral specialist for Allen County Council on Aging.
The next planned walking the wards will be on August 12th at 5 PM starting at 50 Town Square.
