LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — More than 200 students were recognized Wednesday night during Lima Senior High School’s annual academic awards ceremony.
Honor roll students were invited to the event, where surprise departmental awards were presented to one student in each grade level. Top students in math, social studies, science, language arts, foreign language, art and music were honored. A junior and senior also received career tech awards from their respective programs, while several students were recognized for perfect attendance.
Lima Senior High School Principal Darnell Collins said, “Hard work needs to be rewarded, and so we want to celebrate that with our students and our families as much as we can. It’s been a great school year for us, it’s gone really fast.”
School officials say the ceremony highlights the academic achievements and dedication students have shown throughout the school year.
