LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Symphony Orchestra is helping the community prepare for America's 250th anniversary celebration with two free Patriotic Pops concerts scheduled for June 27 and 28.

The orchestra will perform its first concert at 7 p.m. Saturday as part of Cenovus' Community Picnic at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater in Lima. The second performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the east lawn of Ada High School, marking the orchestra's return to Ada after a brief hiatus.

The concerts are free and open to the public and will feature a mix of patriotic selections and music that has become synonymous with American history and culture.

“You know, we have had so much fun putting this concert together because we have so much wonderful music that is American music. Not only are we doing patriotic music, but we're doing a lot of just American classics and movie music. The music that people definitely recognize," said Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, CEO of Lima Symphony Orchestra.

Organizers say audiences can expect a familiar and entertaining program that celebrates the nation's history through music while building excitement ahead of America's semiquincentennial celebration in 2026.
