Lima Symphony Orchestra will be taking families to the movies

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Symphony Orchestra will be bringing movie magic to life with their upcoming concert.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 28th to see the Once Upon a Time: Movie Magic concert at the Pangle Pavilion in Downtown Lima. The symphony and director Andrew Crust will be performing timeless classics from movies like Frozen, The Lion King, Moana and Star Wars. Along with the magical melodies, there will be plenty of activities for the kids like arts and crafts, meet and greets with Elsa and Anna and Mr. Incredible and much more. This summer concert at the pavilion offers a unique viewing experience being outdoors for both the parents and kids to enjoy.

"First of all, the kids can run around more, and that's what we want them to do - we want them to be able to experience the music and to get up and dance and to get up and move, because kids don't always like to sit and listen to a concert," said Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, executive director of the Lima Symphony Orchestra. "This is the music that they're dancing around to and jumping around to at home, and so we want them to have the same opportunity here, and just be able to experience the music the way they want to, and if that involves running around with a bubble wand, so be it. That's what we want them to do, and just have fun, because music should be fun, and listening to the orchestra should be fun."

Pre-show activities will begin at 1:30 pm including face painting, arts and crafts and meet and greets. The symphony will perform at 3 pm.
