Lima warming center sees growing impact, calls for volunteers during arctic blast

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A warming center in Lima has been making great progress towards benefiting those in need during this arctic blast.

The center, located at Northland Community Church, aims to ensure safety when temperatures drop. This could not be done without "Connected Hope", a volunteer group through the ministry. The staff provides not only shelter, but bedding, food, and other necessities for each guest.

With much advancement in the center, there is a call to action from the volunteers and leaders.

"Just if you know anybody who's out there, we'll make room for them. We are looking for volunteers to help man the building overnight as well, but we are doing really well. We thank the community, thank you Lima for all that you have done to help this thing moved well oiled," says Junior Ramos, Pastor of Northland Community Church, Lima.

With lack of volunteers being the biggest challenge, anyone can help and call the warming center for more information. If you have any extra hygiene products left over from the storm, donations are also welcome.
