LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A local organization is using tea and fellowship to help people struggling with stress, depression, and other mental wellness needs in the Lima area. Through shopping, raffles, and donations, 200 women supported Cornerstone of Hope at the ninth annual Women’s Hope Tea.

Along the journey, the counselors bring in practical skills to help people reach a better place.
Cornerstone of Hope provides counseling services for children, adults, couples, and families. Along the journey, the counselors bring in practical skills to help people reach a better place. The money raised during the tea and through donations will go into their “Gift of Hope” Fund, which is used to provide mental health services to people in the community who may not be able to afford it.
“This day builds us with such excitement to see this many women from the community coming together and saying, mental health matters. Mental health, we care about developing hope stories in people, so that more people in our community can go walk around and say, Hey, I have a hope story. I was here. I'm not stuck there anymore, right? I have hope. I have healing. I have tools that I'm living in now,” says Kari Taylor, executive director of Cornerstone of Hope.
Besides the tea, Cornerstone of Hope also announced the release of their new podcast, which features their counselors discussing a variety of issues, like parenting difficulties, ADHD and anxiety.
“But what we love about this is another strategy, another way that we can take the skills that we believe people need to live in mental health and to get it out to the community. Because not everybody wants to come in for counseling. Sometimes they’re not able to. Sometimes they just need some nuggets to take with them. So, while we love serving our community through individual counseling and workshops and groups, we understand that sometimes this is another avenue to get the truth and the skills that are needed for everyone to our community,” adds Taylor.
