LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Art has long been recognized as a therapeutic outlet, and some Ohio State University at Lima students are using it to spread positivity across campus.
Members of the new “Art of Well-Being” club hosted a “Kindness Rocks” event, inviting students to paint rocks and write affirmations on them for others to find and read. The goal is simple: brighten someone’s day while promoting the importance of mental health.
Students gathered to decorate rocks with colorful designs and uplifting messages, creating small tokens of encouragement to leave around campus.
“The Art of well being is studying art and how it can benefit you. So it takes different types of art in their medias and basically combines those with how it can better your mental health,” said Savannah King, an Ohio State undergraduate psychology student.
Organizers say the event is part of a broader effort to help students understand the connection between creative expression and emotional wellness.
The “Art of Well-Being” club will host its next event — a watercolor painting session — on March 4 at the Webb.
