DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — Novus Foods is looking to move forward with a major expansion at its Delphos facility.

Novus Foods plans expansion at Delphos facility, seeking tax abatement

On Tuesday afternoon, company officials spoke to the Allen County commissioners about a tax abatement to help support their planned 130,000-square-foot expansion. The company says it has outgrown its current space and hopes to break ground on the expansion this October. The Delphos school board and city council have already unanimously approved the current abatement request. A similar request was approved in 2022, but the project was delayed due to changes in the company’s growth projections.

“We had so much growth, we had some acquisitions and we had growth in that meantime, and as we looked at that original plan it just wasn't enough to support that growth. And so, we had to go back to the drawing board and find a solution that supported the growth we had and that we anticipate coming,” said Phil Baldauf, senior vice president of growth at Novus Foods.

The expansion is expected to add about 15 new jobs and help the company maintain its current workforce of 500 employees. Novus says the added space will support its growth through 2030.
