Strong winds cause partial building collapse at Brice Avenue and Metcalf Street in Lima

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A building located on the corner of Brice Avenue and Metcalf Street has partially collapsed.

Due to the strong wind gusts, the building's bricks started to fall. According to witnesses, the neighborhood heard a loud sound, meaning the bricks fell at once rather than one by one. No injuries have been reported, but the road will be blocked off.

"The engineer just left, he said it's time. It's structurally stable but the facade is going to continue to come off most likely, so they're going to be investigating more," says Douglas Beck, Captain of the Lima Fire Department.

He adds that this building has dealt with issues of bricks coming off of the building before, and to stay away from this area until further notice.
