LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The West Ohio Food Bank found a fun way to thank the community for supporting its mission to end hunger in the area.

This is the second year the WOFB has held a Family Fun Fest, bringing people together for a day of games, activities, and entertainment. Kids enjoyed train rides and a giant bouncy house, while attendees could also sample free popcorn and snow cones. Visitors had the chance to serve as judges for a chili cookoff. The event was designed to give back to the people who support the food bank throughout the year.

West Ohio Food Bank hosts Family Fun Fest to thank community

“Without the support of the community, we wouldn't be able to exist. So we appreciate everybody that comes out, no matter how they give, whether volunteering, financially or just advocating for us. We're just very happy that we're able to give back. This is just a way for us to say thank you for all the support they give us throughout the year, and it's a great way for people to come out and do something for their kids that's completely free," said Tommie Harner, CEO of the West Ohio Food Bank.

Harner said organizers are planning to make the Family Fun Fest even bigger and better next year.
