The American Township Fire Department is moving back to their original spot on Edgewood Drive.
The facility sits on the spot of the old building, which was not fitting the needs of the department, who wanted a change for their squad. The brand new facilities have more space for the department to fit bigger living quarters and training equipment. The chief says that he's ready to start moving his crew in and helping out the community.
"It's very exciting to have a brand new firehouse; not too many departments have that in their careers being fire chief so it's very exciting for us to do this - it's a bigger fire house, it's much safer," said Chief Tom Hadding.
The department is planning an open house of the new facilities later this year.
