If you are the kind of person who drowns their pancakes in maple syrup, this weekend is for you!
The annual Maple Syrup Festival is going on this weekend at McLean Teddy Bear Park. Follow along the guided trail and learn the ins and outs of maple syrup production from the early Native American days all the way through modern day. It is a whole lot of fun and a great way to learn about a staple at breakfast tables.
"A lot of times when we buy something from the store, we take a look at it, we say 'aw, that's cool, it comes from the grocery store,'" says naturalist Dan Hodges of the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. "But in this case, it comes from something that's so much more in-depth and unique, and awesome than that."
If you missed it Saturday, you can still tap into all the fun Sunday (3/4/18) from noon to 5 p.m.
