On Wednesday(11/20/19), the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District shared some of its conservation efforts at the annual West Central Ohio Land Conservancy meeting.
The park district director talked about some current projects involving wetlands, prairie restoration, and much more. The park district currently has 15 acres of land used for conservation efforts. They felt it was important to present at the meeting because they both share the same conservancy goals.
“There are entities out there that are interested in conserving land, conserving open space for people to recreate in but also conserving space for wildlife,” said Tyler Black, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.
Land acquisition and Gifts through the Park District Foundation are some of the park district's future projects.
