Mercer County, OH (WLIO) - A wanted man in custody Friday night, after law enforcement conducts a raid at a Campground on Grand Lake.
According to Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman's office, 51-year-old Bobby L. Mowery was taken to the Mercer County Adult Detention Center after being forcibly removed from a trailer at Kozy Kampgrounds. Mowery was wanted in Mercer County for Felony Escape and Failure to Comply and wanted on numerous charges out of Darke county. Detectives in Mercer County along with the Grand Lake task force had gotten information that Mowery was in a trailer at the campgrounds and obtained a search warrant. He refused to come out after numerous verbal commands to surrender and after that, Tear gas was deployed and Deputies eventually used a Taser on him. The Mercer County Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Auglaize County SRT team, the State Highway Patrol, and Grand Lake Drug Task force.

Sheriff Doug Timmerman reports the arrest of one Bobby L. Mowery, age 51. Mowery is wanted in Mercer County for Escape a felony of the 4th degree and failure to comply a felony of the 3rd degree. Mowery also has numerous charges out of Darke County which would include failure to comply, escape, felonious assault, weapons under disability, possession of drugs, and resisting arrest. Mowery also has a parole violation holder.
Detectives with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Lake Task Force developed information that Mowery was in a trailer located in Kozy Kampgrounds. Detectives conducted surveillance of the location and also applied for a search warrant to make entry into the trailer. Due to Mowery’s previous tendencies to be violent and fleeing law enforcement, Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman requested assistance from Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office SRT (Special Response Team). The search warrant was executed at 7:03 PM. Mowery refused to come out of the trailer after numerous verbal commands. Tear gas was deployed into the trailer and the SRT team also used their “bearcat” to gain entry. Mowery was located in a back bedroom and failed to comply and as a result was tased. Mowery was cleared medically at the scene and transported to the Mercer County Adult Detention Center.
