WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) – A Wapakoneta native returned to her hometown to showcase her upcoming album.
Haley Schattschneider, along with the Wapakoneta community, celebrated the debut of her new jazz album, Over the Moon, at a free and public release party. The album is a tribute to Wapakoneta, native Neil Armstrong and his role in the historic Apollo 11 moon landing in July 1969. The album features eight jazzy renditions of popular moon-themed songs, including “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Dancing in the Moonlight,” and “Moon River.” Schattschneider performed a couple of songs for attendees, something she says truly touches her heart.
“It truly really touches my heart to just see all these people coming out with so much unconditional support for me. Wapakoneta has always been that place for me. Whether it was in a musical on stage, I mean everyone showed up and everyone was always so excited, so just... To feel this as an adult in my professional career, it just... There is no feeling that beats it,” says, Haley Schattschneider, Wapakoneta native & singer debuting her album Over the Moon.
